Our ‘We’: Stories
Kerry Woodcock PhD CPCC ACC
Principal Relationship Systems Specialist, Novalda
Kerry Woodcock PhD CPCC ACC is a Relationship Systems Specialist working with leaders, partnerships, teams, and multi-stakeholder groups to amplify the power of their relationship with self, others, and the world.
Kerry’s philosophy is that at the heart of our greatest successes and challenges are the relationships we have with oneself, others, and the world. Using a systems approach, she views both individuals and groups as dynamic complex systems that when revealed to themselves are better able to function with awareness, intention and practice and so create more powerful results.
Kerry’s strengths lie in strategic thinking and influencing others. She serves her clients well, with her ability to rapidly put the best facilitation team together and design the optimum experience for her clients. Her natural enthusiasm is contagious, encouraging full participation in the process by helping clients feel comfortable and connected to the issues that need to be addressed and quickly highlighting and identify ways to leverage strengths. Expecting the best both for and of her clients, she is strong in helping to create, clarify, and stay focused on their vision. Challenging their thinking of what’s possible, she guides them to spot relevant patterns, potential obstacles and issues, and adjust accordingly.
Kerry brings seventeen years of experience as a Relationship Systems Specialist: working as a Participatory Learning and Action facilitator and trainer with multi-stakeholder groups in Participatory Forest Management; and since 2005 working as a coach, facilitator, and Participatory Video practitioner. Her ideal clients are the multi-passionate explorers and creators of this world. She works with leaders and their teams, expatriates and their families, parents and their children, and grieving individuals and their families, and has worked with a range of organisations including: Suncor, EPCOR Centre, The City of Calgary, Hospice Calgary, Aspen, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, Association of Directors of Volunteer Resources, The ‘Dare You?’ Project, and Liberating Families.
Kerry is an International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited coach, certified through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and trained by CRR Global. She is an Insight trained Participatory Video Practitioner, with a PhD in Geography and Environmental Management. Her doctoral research formed the basis of her 2002 book, ‘Changing Roles in Natural Forest Management: Stakeholders’ roles in the Eastern Arc Mountains, Tanzania.’
British-born, Kerry lives with her husband and three children in Calgary, Canada – with the world as her playground. Highlights in her life have included: being a Junior International Great Britain Race Walker; living in a remote Tanzanian village for four years; home-birthing all three of her children; being with her father when he died at home; having family stay with her for extended periods; and co-leading her family with her husband as they continue to create adventures. She loves nothing more than to have quality conversations with friends and family around a meal, campfire, or in the hot tub after snowboarding. She likes the challenge and practice of running, ballet and yoga; and thrives on the connection and ideas created and expressed through reading and writing fiction, and dabbling in painting with acrylics.

Siân Woodcock BA Hons Journalism
Participatory Video Practitioner, Novalda
Siân Woodcock is the Co-founder of Participatory Video at Novalda, with extensive knowledge of the world of media. Trained by the BBC she has experience working at the cutting edge of television production for the BBC and independent production companies in the UK, as well as for the ABC in Australia where she is currently based.
With the expertise and resources she brings to Novalda, Siân’s goal is to enable others to move through the processes that make up a Participatory Video experience, documenting either life events, a part of a school curriculum, or a variety of other circumstances. These techniques are passed on through workshops designed to give individuals the confidence to make their own films; from the very beginning, a client driven collaborative project with the opportunity to receive a high quality film as an end product.
Siân has followed her own interests in travel and photography by working in Sri Lanka for a broadsheet newspaper and filming on location to produce short films as well as edit producing daily content for the ABC in Australia. She has always documented her own life through photographs and film. Looking at these brings back many happy memories of a life made up of special people, places and opportunities that she made and took.
Inspired by her Dad’s storytelling, Siân documented his life story on film before he died of cancer in 2006. Always amazed at how little people know about their own family backgrounds she wants to give them the opportunity to learn about themselves, and the people they are close to, through filming their stories in an interactive and exciting way.
